The Environment & Production Committee works to develop the long-term resilience of the State's food and farm systems, and to build capacity for production and procurement of local food.

Meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month, the Environment & Production Committee works to:

• Increase the quality and quantity of production as well as aggregation, marketing, and distribution of local food in urban, suburban, and rural settings
  
  
• Increase the procurement of local food through schools, universities, and other institution
  
  
• Create additional market opportunities for Maryland food businesses
  
  
• Expand access to small scale manufacturing and food production infrastructure
  
  
• Reduce wasted food
