The Environment & Production (EP) Committee works to develop the long-term equity and resilience of the state's food system, and to build capacity for production and procurement of Maryland-certified food by stakeholders across the state.

Meeting on the 2nd Thursday of each month, Environment & Production's goals include:

• Increasing the quality and quantity of production as well as aggregation, marketing, and distribution of local food in urban, suburban, and rural settings
  
  
• Increasing procurement of local food through schools, universities, and other institution
  
  
• Creating additional market opportunities for Maryland food businesses
  
  
• Expanding access to small scale manufacturing and food production infrastructure
  
  
• Reducing food waste
