The Distribution & Access (DA) Committee serves as a coordinating body for food insecurity assistance services across the state, and leverages various funding resources to support and cultivate the state's portfolio of food access assistance tools. The Committee also serves an advisory role, making recommendations to various state agencies and legislators on how to best allocate resources to ensure food access for all Marylanders.

Meeting on the 4th Thursday of every month, Distribution & Access' goals include:

  • Addressing and eliminating racial inequities in the food system
  • Addressing and eliminating diet-related public health disparities
  • Addressing and eliminating food deserts
  • Creating additional market opportunities for Maryland food businesses
